Course Description

PT 518: This course is a biblical and pastoral survey of many challenging issues: traumatic suffering, anger, fear and anxiety, depression, addictions, OCD, eating disorders, gender and sexuality. In each we will see Scripture and the history of pastoral care speaking comprehensively to the problems of life, and also study contemporary resources that give us greater insight into complex problems.

Course Description

PT 508: Worship. The purpose of this course is to provide students with the biblical foundations for worship. This course will argue that gathered worship is legitimate, necessary, important, and should be conducted biblically in both form and content. In addition, the course will address the crucial matters of music, congregational singing, contextualization, “worship styles,” and more. The goal is to prepare students to be biblical worshippers, to help others be biblical worshippers, and to be effective leaders in worship.

Course Description

OT 514: Prophets. This course presents an overview and discussion of the background, content, and overall message of the Prophetic Books, explaining how these integrate into the larger arch of the Old Testament, the History of Israel, and the covenantal relationship between God and Man. Ultimately, the purpose of this class is to lay a foundation for the Gospel of Jesus Christ revealed not only in the New Testament but also in the Old.

Course Description

OT 508: This course takes an expository approach to the major developments in the history of redemption: creation, covenant, promise, and fulfillment of the promises. This portion of the biblical revelation covers the period from Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden to Israel in the Promised Land.

ST 522: This course examines the life and thought of major figures of the Protestant Reformation such as Martin Luther and John Calvin in context. Additionally, various trends, movements, and publications that were products of the Reformation are considered.

Course Description

HT 504: Church History 2 is a continuation of Church History 1 (HT 502), concentrating on great leaders of the church in the modern period of church history from the Reformation to the 20th century.

This course serves as an introduction to the basic foundational elements of Ugaritic. As originally recorded, the format of the class was a communal learning experience, led by a moderator, where students held one another accountable to continue studying throughout the class. Done as an online/individual study course, the structure is, naturally, a bit different than as originally designed.

The course content will be delivered via a video lecture and then by also watching the recorded class discussions. Links to the videos will be provided by the instructor. No prior knowledge of ancient Semitic languages is necessary for this class.
